The Oriental Ceramic Society currently receives regular and occasional sponsorship from a number of institutions and individuals, which enables us to offer annual specialized lectures on jades, paintings and ceramics: the Woolf Charitable Trust Jade Lecture, the Sonia Lightfoot Memorial Paintings Lecture, the Sir Michael Butler Memorial Lecture and the Dr. Mok Hing Yiu Charitable Foundation lecture; occasional visits from mainland Chinese scholars through the Chinese Scholars Fund, and lectures, drinks and receptions through support from Bonhams, Sotheby’s, Christie’s, Woolley & Wallis, Duke’s of Dorchester and Dreweatts auction houses. The Society is extremely grateful for this sponsorship which enables us to host speakers from the UK and overseas to give lectures of the highest standard and on a variety of topics of great interest to our members. The publication of these lectures in our annual journal, The Transactions of the Oriental Ceramic Society, results in a high quality publication.
The Society provides an occasional bursary for help with special research from the George de Menasce Fund, and over the years many distinguished scholars have been bestowed the Hills Gold Medal.
We would be extremely happy to discuss possible sponsorship projects, donations and bequests. You can also support the Society by becoming a Patron Member (£ 300 per year).
