Dear Members

I am very much looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible for the AGM on 6th June, when we will hear from Sarah Cheang, and discuss some of our achievements for this year and our plans for the future. I would like to thank Teresa Canepa and Beth Gardiner for their beautiful new issue of the Newsletter, following on from the fantastic work by George Manginis over many years.

We are beginning to plan events to celebrate our centenary in 2021, which we hope will include a wonderful exhibition and conference. This will be a job for the next president, who we will elect in June at the AGM.

The OCS tour to Madrid in September promises to be an amazing experience and we are very grateful to Harry and Willemijn for organising and creating the tours (details in programme) and to all those involved in the site visits and administration.

I am very happy to announce that with the help of Chun I Lin, PhD student at SOAS, and a succession of other volunteers at the British Museum, we now have the full range of historic TOCS complete and online. Members can access the volumes from 1921 to the present through the Members Area on the website, using the password. These volumes are fully searchable.

Finally, we thank all our past, present and future sponsors and supporters for making the OCS lectures such an enjoyable and inspiring part of the society’s programme, and for helping to keep the Oriental Ceramic Society at the vanguard of collectors’ societies.

Yours sincerely,

Jessica Harrison-Hall
