HANDLING SESSIONS

Each year the Society offers several discussion and handling sessions both of items from members’ collections and of important masterpieces from the major London museums. They are intended for connoisseurs and novices alike, so there is ample opportunity to learn about Chinese and Asian art in the company of experts in their field.

The Victoria & Albert Museum have very kindly offered members a handling session at the museum on 14th November, 2017, on Chinese textiles, to compliment Beth McKillop’s lecture on 5th December.  It will include a small selection of kesi from their collections from different periods, and one piece from the Stein collection, showing the Tang tapestry weaving technique.   Due to space restrictions numbers are limited (for members only) and booking essential.
